Yesterday, I went to an amazing Chinese art festival. There were different stands which artists could present their skills and wonderfully teaching the visitors! It was definite an exciting experience for a foreign student like me. What caught up my attention first in a breathtaking exhibition of Chinese porcelain was a 15th-century qinghua bowl, vividly illustrating a dragon played with a ball.

Then I tried paper cutting, that is, making images out of paper. It was difficult, and a lot of fun! Under an artist’s help, I managed to make one in shape of a fish. Meanwhile, there was also an old man writing Chinese calligraphy and his writing was very free and elegant that I was attracted! Then another man sitting next to him shows me how seal cutting worked. He made one for me with my name in Chinese—pretty awesome!

On snowy winter night, a bus with 45 passenger had an accident because of the wet road. And all of them were trapping in the bus and what’s worse, the bus runs out of gas and it was very cold in it. They could do nothing but to wait for help. A man who lived nearby saw that had happened. He and some villagers succeeded in open the door and helped all of them out of the bus. He took them to his home but offered food and water and even some warm clothes to the children. They spent two days in their home and finally help came. All of them were thankfully for his help.

Peter Judd joined in the army when he was eighteen, and for several months he was taught how to be a good soldier. He did quite good in everything except shooting. One day he and his friends were practice shooting, and all of them were doing quite well besides Peter.

After he had shot at the target nine times and had not hit him once, the officer who was trying to teach the young soldiers shoot said, “You’re quite hopeless. Peter! Don’t waste your last bullet, too! Go behind that wall and shoot yourself with it!” Peter felt shameful. He went behind the wall, and a few seconds later the officer and the other young soldier heard the sound of a shot. “Heavens!” the officer said, “Has that silly man really shot himself?”   He ran behind the wall anxiously, but Peter is all right. “I'm sorry, sir.” he said, “and I missed again.”
