Jessica O Neil 【小题1】 (start) her unusual job six months ago. “As human beings, one thing we often ignore in our daily lives is physical touch, without 【小题2】, we can fall into depression and other mental health problems. Jessica claims that her hugs can help those suffering from loneliness, depression, or low self-confidence. “When I hugged my customers, I could see their tension and 【小题4】(anxious) melt away. Then I could get to their heart and do what I can 【小题5】 (cure) them.” Jessica said. “Everyone has the desire to connect 【小题6】 someone. I believe my hug helps me and my customers connect at a spiritual level.”

Jessica says the majority of her customers are male, but she has 【小题7】 surprising number of female customers as well.

While many people think she must be crazy to do such work, Jessica is confident 【小题8】 she’s made the right choice. “In today’s digital age, many people are lonelier than ever. Apparently, for people 【小题9】 (lack) physical interaction, their mental health 【小题10】 (affect) by my hugging therapy,” said Jessica.

The Chinese master carpenter, Wang Dewen, known as “Grandpa Amu” on social media, has been called the modern day Lu Ban, a famous Chinese structural engineer during the Zhou Dynasty, thanks 【小题1】 his vast carpentry knowledge.

This time, he used beech wood and black walnut material and cut it into 32 pieces of wood, and then 【小题2】   (polish) it into radians (弧度) and chiseled (凿) different structures. When they fit together 【小题3】 (perfect), it became a football.

Its structure can be freely disassembled and assembled (组装) for play. It can’t be kicked around like a real football, but it is 【小题4】 (suit) for display as a craft or a toy or a gift.

The 65 year old grandfather, 【小题5】 real name is Wang Dewen, is from Liaocheng, Shandong province. He started woodworking around the age of 10.

In 2017, the son of “Grandpa Amu” started a business in the field of short video. At the end of 【小题6】 following year, he volunteered 【小题7】 (make) a video of 【小题8】 (he) doing woodwork, and that’s when he started becoming an Internet celebrity.

Grandpa Amu has also made several wooden toys for his grandson using the same technique. Among all the items, a 【小题9】 (walk) Peppa Pig and a bubble blowing toy are his grandson’s 【小题10】 (favor).
