Volunteer English Teachers Needed In San Jose

Our volunteer TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) internships (实习) are a great way to start your new work. You can get valuable experience in your teaching while you are helping others! You can also get the chance to travel around your host city or town and have a better understanding of the local people and culture.

Our volunteer TEFL internships are open to anyone who has studied in our TEFL courses and meets our need for each job chance. If you have taken a class in other TEFI courses and hold a recognized certificate (证书) (over 120 hours of study), your applications (申请) for our internships will also be accepted.

How much should you pay for your internship?

Only $350 for each person!

What is included in the pay?

*Airport pick-up from San Jose Juan Santamaria International Airport.

*4-day training before working, including living and meals.

*Bus trip from San Jose to the host town or city.

*Three meals daily that are provided by the host family.

*Support for getting Volunteer Visa (签证) to Costa Rica.

*24-hour help from local program assistant.

*Anything that you use in your teaching at the local school.

What is NOT included in the pay?

*The cost in your travelling around the country on weekends.

*Anything that you buy for your own use.

*Your trip back home when the internship is over. But we offer you $500 for your trip back home by plane after you finish your internship.

Becoming Bears(Kindergarten－2 grade)

By becoming baby bears, children learn from their “parent” to survive the seasons. Kids will find safety in the spring and learn kinds of food bears eat during the summer, and then create a cave for winter hibernation(冬眠)．After learning the skills needed to survive, students will go out of the cave as an independent black bear able to care for themselves.(1.5－2 hours)

Whose Clues?(3－5 grade)

Kids will discover how plants and animals use their special structures to survive. Through outdoor study of plants and animals, kids will recognize their special structures and learn how they enable species to eat, avoid their enemies and survive. Using what they have learned, kids will choose one species and tell how they survive in their living places.(3－4 hours)

Winged Wonders(3－5 grade)

Birds add color and sound to our world and play an important ecological role. Students will learn the basics of birds, understand the role birds play in food chains and go bird­watching using field guides and telescopes. Students will do hands­on activities. Students will use tools to build bird feeders, allowing them to attract birds at home.(3－4 hours)

Exploring Your Watershed(6－8 grade)

We all depend on clean water. Examining how our actions shape the waterways around us. Go on a hike to see first­hand some of the challenging water quality problems in a city. Students will test the water quality to determine the health of an ecosystem.

·Each program is taught for a class with at least 10 students.

·All programs include plenty of time outdoors. So please prepare proper clothing, sunscreen and insect killers for children.

If you prefer the cold to heat，especially if seeking to escape the northern summer，the best time to visit Sydney could be in the Australian winter from June 1 to August 31.

The Sydney winter isn’t really harsh and the weather’s generally pleasant.It’s great for touring the city on foot and for bushwalking.And the ski slopes are not too far away.

You get the Queen’s Birthday holiday weekend in June and the school holidays in July.Aside from within those periods，accommodation costs in the city will generally be lower.

Expect generally cool conditions.The average temperature should range from around 8℃(46) at night to 16℃(61) in the daytime in mid­winter.Expect from 80mm to 131mm of rain in a month，with the most rain in June tapering into August.

Outside of the holiday periods，Sydney accommodation will usually be available and should be relatively cheaper.

·The weather’s fine for a walking tour of Sydney.Visit the Rocks，the Sydney Opera House，the Royal Botanic Gardens，Art Gallery of New South Wales，Australian Museum，Hyde Park，Chinatown，Darling Harbour.

·Go on a harbor cruise.At the very least，take a Sydney ferry and cross the harbor to Manly.

·Take a day trip north，south and west of Sydney.

·Spot the whales as they travel north in the whale migration season.

·Go bushwalking at the Royal National Park.
